Minister of National Development Planning: BPS is at the Forefront of Recording Development Outcomes

“Everyone at BPS-Statistics Indonesia is the spearhead of data collection. BPS is at the forefront of documenting the direction and outcomes of our development efforts,” said the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, during his visit to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) office (November 21). Rachmat emphasized that a nation's statistical office plays a vital role in development because, without statistics, development becomes directionless.

Acting BPS-Chief Statistician, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, welcomed the Minister and gave him a tour of the BPS facilities, including the Integrated Statistics Service, the Assessment and Counseling Center, and the National Statistics Command Center.

During the visit, Amalia explained BPS's duties, functions, and activities, including the Economic Census to be conducted again in 2026. Rachmat also addressed participants of the Technical and Administrative Coordination Meeting for SE2026 in Surabaya, which included representatives from all provincial BPS offices across Indonesia, via an online platform. "Good luck preparing for the Economic Census. May the Economic Census results be reliable and contribute significantly to achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision," he said.
