The Collaboration of the National Statistical System 2024

July 16, 2024 | Other Activities

In order to strengthen the role of BPS-Statistics Indonesia in the National Statistical System as a statistical data supervisor, BPS-Statistics Indonesia routinely conducts structured and comprehensive statistical management training at various levels, including policy makers. This training activity represents a collaboration between data supervisors and data custodians, both at the central and regional levels.

"Collaboration in national statistics is aimed at building the capacity of statistical organizers, data sources, and statistical literacy in statistical management and policy formulation. Strengthening the National Statistical System will result in official statistics that are objective, independent, high-quality, and trustworthy," said Imam Machdi, Deputy for Statistical Methodology and Information at BPS-Statistics Indonesia, when opening the National Statistical System Collaboration 2024 event in Bali (July 10). The event was attended by provincial BPS-Statistics Indonesia heads; Heads of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Departments; heads of departments handling statistical affairs at regional government data custodians, as well as sectoral statistical supervisors from the central and provincial levels across Indonesia.

A panel discussion with speakers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB), the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas also reinforced the collaboration for accelerating development transformation in Indonesia. Furthermore, participants were invited to benchmark the Provincial Government of Bali, which has one of the highest Statistical Development Indexes in Indonesia. Dewa Made Indra, the Provincial Secretary of Bali, was present to receive the visit.

Participants also actively engaged in discussions with the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency of the Bali Provincial Government and the Head of the Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Department of the Bali Provincial Government regarding the implementation of the One Data Forum in the region. This collaborative effort in providing quality statistical data is expected to realize a reliable, effective, and efficient National Statistical System.
