Abstract


In July 2019 the value of imports reached USD15,518.5 million, up 35.00 percent (USD4,023.0 million) compared to the previous month. Likewise the volume rose 32.72 percent to 13,609.9 thousand tons. The import value in July 2019 consisted of oil and gas imports of USD1,748.1 million (11.26 percent) and non-oil and gas USD13,770.4 million (88.74 percent).
The the main country of origin of total import value from January to July 2019 is China, with USD24,909.4 million (25.50 percent), followed by Singapore with USD9,596.2 million (9.82 percent), and Japan with USD9,110.6 million (9.33 percent). Viewed from the category of economic goods usage, it is still dominated by imports of raw / auxiliary materials at USD72,858.9 million (74.58 percent), followed by capital goods at USD15,943.5 million (16.32 percent), and consumer goods at USD8,885 9 million (9.10 percent).
According to the 1 digit SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) goods category, the main group of imported goods is the machinery and transportation equipment group with a value of USD31,336.4 million (32.08 percent). During January-July 2019, the port located in DKI Jakarta Province was still a place for loading and unloading of major imported goods in Indonesia with a share of 52.02 percent (USD50,818.8 million).
