Abstract

  • Indonesia's Human Development Index in 2024 reached 75.02, an increase of 0.63 points (0.85 percent) compared to previous year (74.39).
  • During the period 2020-2024, Indonesia's HDI increased on average by 0.75 percent annually.
  • The increase of HDI is higher than previous year. All dimensions increase higher compared to previous year, particularly the decent standard of living dimension and the knowledge dimension.
  • In the long and healthy life dimension, life expectancy at birth in 2024 was recorded as high as 74.15 years. This means children who were born in this year were expected to live 0.22 years longer than those who were born in the previous year.
  • In the knowledge dimension, the expected years of schooling indicator reached at 13.21 years, representing an increase of 0.06 years compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the mean years of schooling indicator (people aged 25+ years old) increased by 0.08 years, from 8.77 years in 2023 to 8.85 years in 2024.
  • Decent standard of living dimension, represented by adjusted real per capita expenditure, increased by 442 thousand rupiahs (3.71 percent) compared to the previous year.
