Abstract

  • Human development in Indonesia continues to progress. In 2018, Indonesia's Human Development Index (HDI) reached 71.39. This figure increased by 0.58 points or grew by 0.82 percent compared to 2017.
  • Babies born in 2018 have hopes of living up to 71.20 years, 0.14 years longer than those born the previous year.
  • Children who were 7 years old in 2018 had hopes of enjoying 12.91 years of education (Diploma I), 0.06 years longer than those of the same age in 2017.
  • The population aged 25 years and above on average has studied for 8.17 years (class IX), 0.07 years longer than the previous year.
  • In 2018, the Indonesian people meet their needs with an average per capita expenditure of 11.06 million rupiah per year, an increase of 395 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year's expenditure.
