BPS Chief Statistician Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti and Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the collection, use, and development of statistical data in the creative economy sector. The agreement was formalized on March 13 at the BPS headquarters.
The signing ceremony was attended by BPS Vice Chief Statistician Sonny Harry B. Harmadi, Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy Dessy Ruhati, and senior officials from both organizations.
Amalia emphasized the importance of cooperation, noting that creative economy statistics currently cover 17 subsectors. "Collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy is essential to refine the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI)," she said.
Minister Teuku Riefky welcomed the partnership, highlighting BPS as a key ally in advancing data-driven policymaking. "BPS plays a strategic role in shaping evidence-based policies for the creative economy," he stated.
He also announced plans to form a dedicated task force to support the 2026 Economic Census and the 2025 revision of the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification.
