BPS-Bekraf Continues to Collaborate on Creating Creative Economy Statistics

Bandung - Kota "Parijs van Java" is the venue for the Technical Coordination Meeting (Rakortek) in the Framework of Creating Creative Economy Statistics, 2-5 October 2018. BPS and the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) assess the creative economy (ekraf) as one of the strategic sectors in national development because of its significant contribution to the Indonesian economy.
BPS Director of Production Balance, Setianto in his remarks said BPS welcomed Bekraf's request to continue cooperation in this third year. "Since Bekraf was formed, there are 16 sub-sectors that have been established in the external sector. The subsector includes applications and game developers; architecture; interior design; visual communication design; product design; fashion; films, animations and videos; photography; craft; culinary; music; publishing; advertising; performing Arts; art; as well as television and radio. The sixteenth subsector is also the scope for the implementation of cooperation activities in 2018, "Setianto said. The three sub-sectors of the economy that grew rapidly and became excellent were culinary (67.66%), fashion (15.01%), and craft (14.56%).
While the Director of Research and Development of the Creative Economy of Bekraf, Wawan Rusiawan explained the high hopes of Bekraf for this cooperation because the growth of the economy in the regions was very massive. "We want to learn how micro and macro indicators of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ekraf are formed and how to monitor the quality of the data," hoped Henry.
