Lately there is a trending topic that states that Indonesia is predicted by 2050 will be the country with the fourth largest economic power in the world after China, US and India. But the problem of poverty, gap, gini ratio, and education is still a homework (PR). The four PRs can trigger social, political, and economic upheavals that affect economic growth.
This was stated by the Minister of Village Development for Disadvantaged and Transmigration Area (PDTT), Eko Putro Sandjojo in his Keynote Speech at the Village Potential Socialization (Podes) 2018 event held in BPS on Thursday (19/4). Among the invitees appear to be representatives of Ministries / Agencies, UNFPA, UNDP, ABS, and stakeholders who will later use Podes data.
"Podes data is important to evaluate whether our program is well targeted or not, including poverty alleviation programs in the village", said Eko further.
In his speech, Kecuk explained that in relation to rural development, BPS provides support to the Government, one of them through the Data Collection of Village Potential (Podes) which is a census activity on all the lowest administrative areas at the village / sub-district, sub-district and district level in Indonesia.
"In addition, from Podes data, BPS also established the Geographic Difficulties Index (IKG) which is used as one of the funding grounds for village fund alocators." "Kecuk said.
This socialization event continued with a talk show with moderator of the Main Secretary, Adi Lumaksono. Also present were three speakers, namely Deputy for Social Statistics, M. Sairi Hasbullah, Head of Satgas Dana Desa Village, PDTT, Bibit Samad Rianto, and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) representative Juliaty Ansye Sopacua.
