Abstract

In exports and imports, transportation is the key in the goods distribution chain. In the International Merchandise Trade Statistics (IMTS), it is recommended for compiler countries to present data on exports and imports of goods based on transportation mode at the most detailed commodity level. During 2022, Indonesia's imports increased 21.03 percent to US$237,447.1 million. Sea transportation is the main mode of transportation or as much as 90.88 percent (US$215,795.2 million) of Indonesia's total imports and rose by 24.93 percent compared to 2021. Indonesia's import activities until 2022 still depend on the main ports on the island of Java, especially the Port of Tanjung Priok with a value of US$ 89,445.6 million (37.67 percent).
