In August 2018 the import value reached USD13,772.4 million, down 8.08 percent (USD1,479.0 million) compared to the previous month. While the volume experienced a slight increase of 0.14 percent to 15,554.8 thousand tons. The import value in August 2018 consists of oil and gas imports of USD3,045.7 million and non-oil and gas USD13,772.4 million.Of the total import value from January to August 2018, the main country of origin is occupied by China (20.21 percent), followed by Singapore (11.54 percent), and Japan (9.67 percent). Judging from the category of economic goods usage, still dominated by imports of raw / auxiliary materials amounting to USD93,177.9 million (75.04 percent), followed by capital goods USD19,537.3 million (15.74 percent), and consumer goods USD11,451 , 6 million (9.22 percent). According to the category of SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1 item, the main group of imported goods is a group of machinery and transportation equipment with a value of USD39,302.8 million (31.65 percent). During January-August 2018 the ports in DKI Jakarta Province were still the main loading and unloading of imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 50.07 percent (USD62,168.9 million).
