Abstract




In May 2018 the value of imports reached USD17.662, 9 million, up 9.28 percent (USD1.500, 6 million) compared to the previous month. Similarly, the volume increased 11.08 percent to 16,444.2 thousand tons. The import value of May 2018 consisted of oil and gas imports of USD2.861.4 million and non-oil and gas USD14.801.5 million.


The total import value from January to May 2018, the main origin countries are China (23.77 percent), followed by Singapore (10.82 percent) and Japan (9.78 percent). In terms of economic goods, dominated imports of raw / auxiliary materials amounted to USD49.678.3 million (75.42 percent), followed by capital goods USD10.702.5 million (16.34 percent) and consumer goods USD5.468, 9 million (8.33 percent).

According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1st grade category, the main import goods group is the group of machines and transportation equipment with a value of USD24,865.3 million (31.97 percent). During January-May 2018 the ports in DKI Jakarta were still the main unloading place for imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 51.31 percent (USD39,910.6 million).
