December 23, 2024 | Other Activities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recently met with the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs to discuss collaboration on data sharing to support the ministry’s strategic planning efforts. The meeting focused on integrating BPS data into the ministry’s Strategic Plan (Renstra), particularly for developing key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with national priorities under the Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
The proposed KPIs include the Food Security Index, GDP growth in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, as well as indices measuring farmer exchange rates and community welfare. The ministry also shared plans for a new Food Dashboard, which will rely on BPS-provided data for accurate and real-time monitoring.
“The role of Statistics Indonesia is vital in ensuring accurate and timely data to support the formulation of effective national food policies,” said the Acting Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs during the meeting.
This partnership underscores the importance of reliable statistics in shaping evidence-based policy and fostering sustainable food security in Indonesia.
