To gain deeper insights into budget management, On the second day of the 2024 Agricultural Economic Survey (SEP) Coordination Meeting, all the participants visited the the Ministry of Finance at Dhanapala Building. The BPS-Statistics Indonesia’s delegation was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Finance II, Thomas Djiwandono. Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, opened the event by conveying her appreciation to the Ministry of Finance, a long-standing partner of BPS as the occasion provides a valuable opportunity to enhance budget management capabilities and strengthening administrative functions that will face growing challenges in the future. Thomas Djiwandono, in his remarks by sharing four main topics: the global economic situation, fiscal policy, the high quality of government spending for inclusive and sustainable economic growth, and synergy between BPS and the Ministry of Finance. Thomas stated that statistics form the basis for a reliable decision, and BPS holds this crucial role. Effective collaboration will foster a strong synergy to achieve Indonesia’s 2045 development vision.
The event continued with a panel discussion on fiscal policy and government spending, moderated by BPS’s Head of Planning Bureau, Nashrul Wajdi. The panel featured Lisbon Sirait, Director of Budget Systems MOF; Tri Budianto, Director of Budget Implementation MOF; and Tuan Supriadi Sinaga, Head of Subdirectorate of Social Welfare and Presidential Affairs, Directorate of Human and Cultural Development Budget MOF.
