During the opening of the EPSS 2024 National Plenary event in Surakarta on 20 August 2024, BPS-Statistics Indonesia’s principal secretary stated that the recommendation letter for the Evaluation of Sectoral Statistics Implementation issued by BPS for the assessed government institutions is crucial for improving data quality, specifically in achieving One Data Indonesia (SDI) and enhancing the National Statistical System.
As a part of the assessment processes conducted by the Internal Evaluation Team (TPI), Institutional Evaluation Team (TPB), and Quality Assurance Team (TPK), the harmonization is necessary to ensure objectivity. This harmonization is conducted in each level of institution which is central-level plenaries to discuss central institution scores and provincial-level plenaries to discuss regional government scores.
The results agreed upon at the central and provincial plenaries need to be harmonized at the national level so that TPB and TPK at both central and regional levels have a shared perception of the assessment conducted.
There is also a panel discussion with the Director of Human Resources and Geospatial Information, from Geospatial Information Agency, Sumaryono; the Executive Director of One Data Indoensia from Ministry of National Development Planning, Dini Maghfirra; and Ucup Hidayat from the Ministry of Home Affair; with the Director of Statistics Analysis and Development from BPS, Romzi, acted as the moderator. Sumaryono stated that the data that BPS have currently, would be more powerful with the support of other information, such as geospatial information. The 3 days national plenary was attended by 287 participants from BPS (headquartes and provinces) and representatives from ministries/agencies.
