National Rice Supply Dynamics Discussion

Taking place at the Kempinski Grand Ballroom Jakarta, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, the Acting Chief Statistician of the BPS, participated in talks regarding the dynamics of the national rice supply between Commission IV members of Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and Government officials (including the National Food Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, BULOG, and PT. Pupuk Indonesia) on March 25.

"The hope is that this activity can unearth relevant information to maintain the stability of food prices, especially rice," said the Chairman of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sudin, as the meeting's leader, in his opening remarks.

During the session, Amalia provided an overview of the national rice situation based on 2023 rice stock and import data, expressing a desire for the data to serve as a foundation for boosting productivity among stakeholders.
