Study of Gender Inequality Index Measurement 2021

In 2017 BPS-Statistics Indonesia has been conducted a study on the measurement of the Gender Inequality Index/Indeks Ketimpangan Gender (IKG) referring United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The study conducted in 2017 focused on selecting the index and indicator preparation method used for calculating the IKG at the provincial level. In 2018 the study was deepened with a trial calculation at the municipal level using the method in 2017. In 2021, the review will be continued with a trial for calculating the IKG at the provincial and municipal levels by adjusting the use of the 2015 SUPAS result projection weighing on the 2018-2020 Sakernas (Labor Force National Survey). This year, the study focused on looking at the distribution of the IKG by region and comparing it with the results of calculating other indicators and data from the previous period to further strengthen the methodology used.
