Abstract

The increase in the number of elderly has complex consequences—the challenges posed by the aging population cover every aspect of life. To respond to these conditions, we need an elderly development program that can protect the lives of the elderly in Indonesia. Departing from this phenomenon, BPS tries to accommodate the need for concrete and comprehensive elderly data in the Statistics of Aging Population 2020 Publication. This publication can determine the potential and resources of the elderly population in Indonesia. This book is an annual publication that contains macro information about the elderly, including: demographic conditions, educational status, health conditions, economic potential, social conditions, and access of the elderly population to various protection and empowerment facilities to improve their quality of life. The data used in this publication source from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) March 2020, National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) August 2020, and secondary data from Ministries / Agencies.
