Abstract
An increase in the number of older people in
indonesia is a “sign” that development in this country has yielded a great
result. Yet, on the other hand, this also brings complicated consequences.
There are many challenges come to various aspects of life as the result of
aging population. Thus, an elderly development program that can protect the older
people’s lives in Indonesia is needed. According to this phenomenon, BPS tries
to accomodate the need of concrete and comprehensive elderly data then write
them down in the form of Statistics of Aging Population 2017. Through this
book we can know how the ability and human resource condition of older people
in Indonesia is. This is annual publication that contains macro informations
about demography, education, health, economic and social condition, and also
older people access to various protection and empowerment facilities for
quality improvement of their lives. The data used in this publication is mostly
from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) in 2017, the National Labor
Force Survey (Sakernas) in 2017 and secondary data from Ministries / Agencies.
