Abstract

The issue of corruption is not new anymore in the midst of people's lives. Indonesia is a country that continues to encourage corruption prevention and eradication in all fields. This is of course a concern of the government considering this behavior has a negative impact on all lines of life. Various types of elements that are able to describe the daily behavior of corruption (petty corruption) of Indonesian society are comprehensively described in this publication, including perceptions of certain habits, experience dealing with public services and other experiences.Anti-corruption behavior of Indonesian people is increasing. Indonesia's Anti-Corruption Behavior Index (IPAK) in 2020 shows a number of 3.84 on a scale of 0 to 5. This number is higher than the achievements in 2019 of 3.70. For the record, the index value is getting closer to 5 indicating that people behave increasingly anti-corruption, conversely the IPAK value getting closer to 0 indicates that people behave increasingly permissive to corruption.Based on the existing dimensions of perception and experience, in 2020, the Perception Index value was 3.68, a decrease of 0.12 points compared to the 2019 Perception Index (3.80). In contrast, the 2020 Experience Index (3.91) increase by 0.26 points compared to the 2019 experience index (3.65). This increase is due to the improvement of the public service system in Indonesia. In general, the level of education influences behavior. The higher education level, the community tends to be more anti-corruption. In 2020, the IPAK of the community educated below highschool is 3.80; highschool is 3.88; and above high school is 3.97. Then, the urban population IPAK is higher (3.87) than the rural community (3.81). In terms of age, people at the age of 40 years and under are the most anti-corruption compared to other age groups. In 2020, the IPAK of the people under the age of 40 is 3.85; people aged 40-59 years is 3.84; and people aged 60 years or more at 3.82.Finally, despite the increase, IPAK 2020 illustrates several things that need to be improved, i.e. the existence of people who pay more than the provisions when accessing public services; there are still businesses actors that pay more than the provisions when accessing public services; most payments that exceed the provisions occur after the service is completed; and most payments that exceed the provisions occur in the form of money.
