Abstract

In May 2019 the value of imports reached USD14,606.7 million, down 5.15 percent (USD792.5 million) compared to the previous month.Conversely, the volume of imports increased by 4.40 percent to 14,766.1 thousand tons.The import value in May 2019 consisted of oil and gas imports of USD2,182.2 million and non-oil and gas imports of USD12,424.5 million.The total of import values ​​from January to May 2019, the main country of origin was China with USD18,167.3 million (25.70 percent), followed by Japan with USD6,468.0 million (9.15 percent), and Singapore with USD6,607.7 million (9.35 percent). Judging from the use of economic goods, imports of raw / auxiliary materials were still dominated by USD52,859.9 million (74.78 percent), followed by capital goods of USD11,434.0 million (16.18 percent), and consumer goods of USD6,390 , 5 million (9.04 percent). According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1 class of goods, the main group of imported goods is the machinery and transportation equipment group with a value of USD22,423.9 million (31.73 percent). During January-May 2019 the ports found in the DKI Jakarta Province are still the place to unload the main imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 51.79 percent (USD36,604.6 million).
