Abstract

Indonesia's imports during 2018 reached USD188,711.2 million, which consisted of oil and gas imports of USD29,868.8 million and a total of USD158,842.4 million. When compared to 2017, the value of imports rose by 20.21 percent triggered by an increase in oil and gas imports of 22.83 percent (USD5,552.6 million) and non-oil and gas 19.73 percent (USD26,173.0 million). The main country of origin of Indonesia's imports is China, USD45,537.8 million (22.78 percent), followed by Singapore with USD21,439.5 million (10.76 percent), and Japan with USD17,976.7 million (9.53 percent) . Viewed from the category of use of economic goods, imports of raw / auxiliary materials were still dominated by USD141,581.0 million (75.03 percent), followed by capital goods of USD29,948.8 million (15.87 percent) and consumer goods of USD17,181, 4 million (9.10 percent). During January-December 2018, the Port of Tanjung Priok is still the place to unload the main imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 40.85 percent or USD77,090.5 million.
