Abstract

In February 2019 the value of imports reached USD 12,226.0 million, down 18.45 percent (USD 2,765.4 million) compared to the previous month. Similarly, the volume decreased by 9.98 percent to 12,504.8 thousand tons. The import value of February 2019 consisted of oil and gas imports of USD1,584.0 million and non-oil and gas imports of USD10,642.0 million. The total import values ​​from January to February 2019, the main country of origin was China with USD7,269.1 million (26.71 percent), followed by Japan with USD2,649.5 million (9.74 percent), and Singapore with USD2,373.2 million (8.72 percent). Viewed from the category of use of economic goods, imports of raw / auxiliary materials were still dominated by USD20,441.5 million (75.10 percent), followed by capital goods of USD4,544.8 million (16.70 percent), and consumer goods of USD231,1 million (8.20 percent). According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1 class of goods, the main imported goods group is machinery and transportation equipment with a value of USD8,783.1 million (32.27 percent). During January-February 2019 the ports found in the DKI Jakarta Province are still the place to unload the main imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 52.70 percent (USD14,343.3 million).
