Abstract

In December 2018 the value of imports reached US$15,364.9 million, down 9.09 percent (US$1,536.9 million) compared to the previous month. Similarly, the volume decreased 5.77 percent to 14,716.9 thousand tons. The December 2018 import value consisted of oil and gas imports of USD2,025.3 million and non-oil and gas US$13,339.6 million.
From the total import values ​​from January to December 2018, the main country of origin was China with USD45,537.8 million (23.69 percent), followed by Singapore with USD21,439.5 million (11.36 percent), and Japan with USD17,976.7 million (9.52 percent). Judging from the use of economic goods, imports of raw / auxiliary materials were still dominated by USD141,581.1 million (75.03 percent), followed by capital goods of USD29,948.6 million (15.87 percent), and consumer goods of USD17,181 , 5 million (9.10 percent). According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1 class of goods, the main imported goods group is machinery and transportation equipment with a value of USD59,886.9 million (31.74 percent). During January-December 2018 the ports found in the DKI Jakarta Province are still the place to unload the main imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 49.77 percent (USD93,926.0 million).
