Trade flow of chicken egg commodity in Indonesia 2018

ABSTRACTSTrade flow of broiler eggs commodity explains the distribution chain of broiler eggs from producers to end customers in certain area, which involves intermediaries in the sales process. Each intermediary has trade and transport margin (TTM). Hence, the more intermediaries involved in the sales process, the longer the distribution chain. The long distribution chain may cause the higher price.This publication analyzes the trade flow of broiler eggs in 33 provinces in Indonesia covering 233 districts/big cities. By using survey to producers and resellers, the trade flow of broiler eggs commodity are able to be pictured bothnationally and regionally. The results show that the distribution flow of broiler eggs from producers to end customers in Indonesia involves 1 to 6 intermediaries. The national main flow of distribution is: producers à retailers à end customers with total trade and transport margin is 29,32 percent. Keywords: distribution, flow, broiler eggs, margin
