In October 2018 the value of imports reached USD17,667.6 million, up 20.93 percent (USD3,057.5 million) compared to the previous month. Similarly, the volume increased 23.81 percent to 15,923.2 thousand tons. The import value for October 2018 consisted of oil and gas imports of USD2,916.9 million and non-oil and gas imports of USD14,750.7 million.

Of the total import values ​​from January to October 2018, the main countries of origin were China (14.81 percent), followed by Singapore (7.23 percent), and Japan (6.07 percent). Judging from the use of economic goods, imports of raw / auxiliary materials were still dominated by USD117,490.4 million (75.10 percent), followed by capital goods of USD24,674.0 million (15.77 percent), and consumer goods of USD14,280.1 million (9.13 percent).
According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1 class of goods, the main imported goods group is machinery and transportation equipment with a value of USD49,624.9 million (31.72 percent). During January-October 2018 the ports found in the DKI Jakarta Province are still the place to unload the main imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 50.04 percent (USD69,443.9 million).
