Executive Summary of the 2018 Harvested Area and Rice Production in Indonesia

Based on ASF results, the paddy harvested area in Indonesia for the period January-September 2018 was 9.54 million hectares. Taking into account the potential until December 2018, the harvested area in 2018 is 10.90 million hectares. Paddy production in Indonesia from January to September 2018 was 49.65 million tons of dry grain (GKG). Based on the production potential until December 2018, it is estimated that total rice production in 2018 will amount to 56.54 million tons of GKG. If paddy production is converted into rice using the GKG to rice conversion rate, then paddy production is equivalent to 32.42 million tons of rice.
