Abstract
The import value of March 2018 reached USD14,463.6 million, up 1.96 percent (USD278.1 million) compared to the previous month, but its volume decreased 5.80 percent to 12,979.8 thousand tons consisting of oil and gas imports of USD2.239, 1 million (15.48 percent) and non-oil / non-gasoline USD12.224.5 million (84.52 percent).
The main origin countries are China (23.26 percent) of the total import value from January to March 2018, followed by Singapore (11.07 percent) and Japan (9.88 percent). In terms of economic goods, dominated imports of raw / auxiliary materials amounted to USD32,824.5 million (74.67 percent), followed by capital goods USD7,191.1 million (16.36 percent) and consumer goods USD3.942, 9 million (8.97 percent).
According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1st grade category, the main import goods group is the group of machines and transportation equipment with a value of USD14.279.2 million (32.48 percent). During January-March 2018 the ports in DKI Jakarta Province were still the main unloading place for imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 52.29 percent (USD22.984.1 million).
