Abstract

Import value of February 2018 reached US$14.185.5 million, down 7.34 percent (US$1.123,9 million) compared to the previous month, but it’s volume increased 4.17 percent to 13,779.3 thousand tons consisting of oil and gas imports of US$2.234.8 million (15.75 percent) and non-oil and gas US$11.950.7 million (84.25 percent).

The main origin countries of total import value from January to February 2018 are China (24.86 percent), followed by Singapore (10.96 percent) and Japan (9.27 percent). In terms of broad economic catagories, dominated imports of raw/auxiliary materials amounted to US$22.021.4 million (74.66 percent), followed by capital goods US$4.731.8 million (16.04 percent) and consumer goods US$2.741.7 million (9.30 percent).

According to the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) 1st grade category, the main import goods group is the group of machines and transportation equipment with a value of US$9.579.4 million (32.48 percent). During January-February 2018, the ports in DKI Jakarta is still the main unloading place for imported goods in Indonesia with a portion of 52.90 percent (US$15,604.1 million).
