Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • The national NTP in May 2021 was 103.39 or up 0.44 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The increase in NTP was due to the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) increased by 0.66 percent, higher than the increase in the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) of 0.21 percent.
  • Nationally, the NTP from January to May 2021 is 103.20 with an It value of 111.01 while Ib is 107.58.
  • In May 2021, the NTP of Sulawesi Utara Province experienced the highest increase (2.00 percent) compared to the increase in the NTP of other provinces. In contrast, the NTP of Papua Province experienced the highest decline (1.21 percent) compared to the decline in the FTT of other provinces.
  • In May 2021, there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Indonesia by 0.22 percent due to the increase in indexes in ten expenditure groups.
  • The national Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in May 2021 was 104.04, an increase of 0.48 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
