Indonesia's Economy in The Third Quarter of 2019 Grew 5.02 percent

Abstract

  • The Indonesian economy based on the amount of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) based on current prices in the third quarter of 2019 reached Rp4 067.8 trillion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp2 818.9 trillion.
  • Indonesia's economy in quarter III-2019 against quarter III-2018 grew 5.02 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, growth was driven by almost all business fields, with the highest growth being achieved by Other Service Business Fields which grew 10.72 percent. In terms of expenses, the highest growth was achieved by the Nonprofit Consumption Expenditure Component serving Households (PK-LNPRT) which grew by 7.44 percent.
  • Indonesia's economy in quarter III-2019 compared to the previous quarter increased by 3.06 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth was in the Electricity and Gas Procurement Business Field at 4.94 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Export of Goods and Services Components, which increased by 10.87 percent.
  • Indonesia's economy until the third quarter of 2019 (c-to-c) grew 5.04 percent. From the production side, growth was driven by all business fields, the highest growth was in Other Service Business Fields at 10.49 percent. While in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was in the PK-LNPRT component which grew by 13.15 percent.
  • Indonesia's spatial economic structure in quarter III-2019 was dominated by provincial groups in Java and Sumatra. The provincial group on the island of Java gave the largest contribution to Indonesia's GDP, namely 59.15 percent, followed by Sumatra Island with 21.14 percent, and Kalimantan Island with 7.95 percent. Meanwhile, Sulawesi Island with a contribution of 6.43 percent has the highest growth rate.
