Abstract
"The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Desember 2011 was 129.91 or inflated 0.57 percent from November 2011 at 129.18. In Desember 2011, the changes of each expenditure group as follows: the foodstuff increased from 150.33 to 152.76 or inflated 1.62 percent; the prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco increased from 137.88 to 138.57 or inflated 0.50 percent; the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel increased from 123.60 to 123.95 or inflated 0.28 percent; the clothing increased from 136.08 to 136.35 or inflated 0.20 percent; the health increased from 120.58 to 120.79 or inflated 0.17 percent; the education, recreation and sport increased from 123.85 to 123.94 or inflated 0.07 percent, and the transportation, communication and financial services increased from 107.99 to 108.14 or inflated 0.14 percent.
The inflation in Desember 2011 was mainly caused by price increases of several commodities, i.e.: rice, red chili, tomato (vegetable), purebred chicken meat, fresh fish, purebred chicken eggs, tomato (fruit), wages of labor, passenger plane fare, mustard greens, carrot, small chili, grilled fish, pastries, cooked rice & side dishes served together, rendang (spicy meat), clove-flavored cigarette, filter cigarette, cigarette without clove flavoring, cement, rental house fee, housemaid cost, and jeans pants. Meanwhile, the prices of the following commodities were decreased, i.e.: gold accessories, red onion, string bean, bean, potato, cucumber, sweet corn, garlic, and gasoline."
