CPI in April 2011 was 125.66 or Deflated 0.31%

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in April 2011 was 125.66 or deflated 0.31 percent from March 2011 at 126.05. In April 2011, the changes of each expenditure group as follows: the foodstuff decreased from 147.22 to 144.42 or deflated 1.90 percent; the prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco increased from 134.29 to 134.56 or inflated 0.20 percent; the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel increased from 121.20 to 121.46 or inflated 0.21 percent; the clothing increased from 127.33 to 128.28 or inflated 0.75 percent; the health increased from 117.65 to 118.10 or inflated 0.38 percent; the education, recreation and sport increased from 118.71 to 118.80 or inflated 0.08 percent, and the transportation, communication and financial services increased from 106.68 to 106.75 or inflated 0.07 percent.

In April 2011, the core of CPI changed from 121.54 to 121.84 or inflated 0.25 percent (see Table 2). The administered price component changed from 120.28 to 120.48 or inflated 0.17 percent and the volatile component changed from 150.10 to 146.64 or deflated 2.31 percent.

The core inflation rate of calendar 2011 and year on year (April 2011 to April 2010) were 1.31 percent and 4.62 percent respectively. While inflation rate of the administered price component of calendar 2011 and year on year were 0.96 percent and 5.42 percent respectively. Furthermore, inflation rate of the volatile component of calendar 2011 and year on year were -2.69 percent and 12.14 percent.
