Abstract

  • The January 2006 Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 138.72, or inflated 1.36% from the previous month. All indices of expenditure groups increased, except transport, communication and financial services. The foodstuff index changed from 126.55 to 131.98 or inflated 4.29%. prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco from 131.56 to 132.80 or 0.94% inflation. housing, water, electric, gas and fuel increased from 141.50 to 142.49 or 0.70% inflation. clothing from 121.21 to 122.09 or 0.73% inflation. health from 119.99 to 121.26 or 1.06% inflation. education, recreation and sport 136.60 to 136.87 or 0.20% inflation. transport, communication and financial services from 165.38 to 165.29 or 0.05% deflation.
