In accordance with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 4 of 2025, all social assistance and community empowerment programs across government institutions will now be based on the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN). On Thursday (Feb 20), Chief Statistician of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, officially handed over the DTSEN results, expressing gratitude to the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas, the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM), and the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) for their collaboration and support in fulfilling BPS’s mandate to establish the DTSEN.
The event was attended by Vice Chief Statistician of BPS, the Acting Principal Secretary, and the Deputy Chief Statistician for Social Statistics, among others. In her remarks, Amalia emphasized the importance of continuously updating DTSEN to ensure accurate and dynamic socioeconomic data. “BPS is committed to maintaining and improving this data, as socioeconomic conditions are constantly evolving,” she stated.
The DTSEN integrates data from three key sources: the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), the Socioeconomic Registration (Regsosek), and the Targeting for Extreme Poverty Eradication Acceleration (P3KE). Ministers present at the event welcomed this breakthrough, recognizing its significance in strengthening national data governance.
Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf hailed DTSEN as a historic achievement in data management, while Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, commended the willingness of various ministries and institutions to share their data with BPS for integration.
Echoing these sentiments, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, described the handover of DTSEN as a monumental moment in Indonesia’s data governance. “DTSEN will revolutionize the entire welfare data management system, serving as a critical foundation for government program planning. It must be effectively utilized as a key instrument for policymakers at both central and regional levels, particularly in advancing social development and community empowerment,” he stated.
