BPS-Statistics Indonesia will conduct the Economic Census again in 2026. This decennial activity aims to collect data on business actors across Indonesia.
As part of its preparation for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), BPS held the Technical and Administrative Coordination Meeting for SE2026 Preparation in Surabaya, from November 19 to 21, 2024. The meeting was attended by BPS representatives from across Indonesia.
BPS Principal Secretary, Imam Machdi, opened the event and expressed his appreciation to all BPS staff for conducting the SE2026 trial run this year. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the business sector and business associations for the success of SE2026. “Business actors and associations play a vital role in the success of SE2026. Their active participation not only facilitates the census implementation but also enhances data validity,” Imam stated.
A panel discussion was held to provide insights on SE2026's role in shaping Indonesia's economic policy. Panelists included the Deputy Assistant for Economic Competitiveness Enhancement at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ichsan Zulkarnaen, and the Director of Industry, Tourism, and Creative Economy at the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Wahyu Wijayanto. The session was moderated by BPS Distribution Statistics Director, Sarpono.
The coordination meeting also set the SE2026 Coordination Task Force (Garda) with task is to coordinate the implementation of SE2026. This setting symbolizes BPS's readiness to execute SE2026!
