BPS Attends Launch of the Social and Economic Registration Data System Utilization Collaboration

June 20, 2024 | BPS Activities

Jakarta, June 20, 2024 – The BPS-Statistics Indonesia took part in the launch of the Regsosek Data System Utilization Collaboration, an initiative aimed at enhancing evidence-based planning and budgeting across Indonesia. This event, held at the Dhanapala Building, was organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in collaboration with development partner AIP-SKALA.

The foundation for this collaboration is rooted in Law Number 25 of 2004 on the National Development Planning System, which mandates the use of accurate and accountable data in development planning. The Social and Economic Registration Data (Regsosek), collected by BPS in 2022 and followed by a Public Communication Forum in 2023, provides comprehensive socio-economic data for all Indonesian citizens. This data is essential for ministries, agencies, and local governments to implement effective planning, budgeting, and program execution.

The event was attended by key figures, including Acting Chief Statistician of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and representatives from various ministries and agencies. BPS showcased its commitment to the initiative by hosting an exhibition booth at the event.

Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, symbolically handed over access rights to the Regsosek data to the Acting Head of BPS and representatives from the Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ministry of Finance, the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) Secretariat, and the President Director of Social Security Administration Agency for Employment (BPJS Employment). This marks a significant step in distributing Regsosek data to all relevant entities, including provincial, district, and village governments, through a streamlined access mechanism.
