2019 Mapping: SLS Will Become a New Statistics Working Area

February 15, 2019 | BPS Activities

Jakarta - BPS Deputy Methodology and Statistical Information (MIS), M. Ari Nugraha opened Information Technology (IT) Activities Coordination and Consolidation Meeting, Dissemination Activities, and 2019 Mapping Activities at Aston Bogor Hotel, (6/2). "For the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) mapping the statistical work area (Wilkerstat) is the smallest Local Environment Unit (SLS). Its function is to renew the 2009 census block. But we still have to wait for the results of the SP2020 Pilot that is being implemented, "Ari said.
Apart from the Deputy MIS, the Head of the BPS IPDS Division throughout Indonesia was also a meeting participant. The coordination of the mapping activities included technical explanations for mapping and updating the district data that will be carried out in 2019. Wilkerstat is a statistical working area for census activities and surveys conducted by BPS.
The rapid development, of course, caused a lot of changes in cargo such as residential buildings, offices, schools and others. Updating the form and position of the digital map of Wilkerstat is currently being prepared as a master frame to support various data collection held by BPS. The preparation of Wilkerstat maps uses geospatial technology.
