In January 2022, the value of imports reached US$18,211.1 million, down US$3,140.9 million (14.71 percent) compared to the previous month. Likewise, its volume fell 27.88 percent to 4,841.8 thousand tons. The import value in January 2022 consisted of oil and gas imports of US$2,229.2 million (12.24 percent) and non-oil and gas imports of US$15,981.9 million (87.76 percent). Imports in January 2022 were dominated by three main origin countries, namely China USD 5,880.0 million (32.29 percent), followed by Japan USD 1,392.8 million (7.65 percent), and Singapore USD 1,317.4 million (7.23 percent).
