Abstract

The increasing number of elderly population generate complex consequences. Various challenges caused by aging population have covered almost every aspect of life. To respond to these conditions, we need a sustainability development program that is able to protect the elderly in Indonesia. Departing from this phenomenon, Statistics Indonesia tries to accommodate the need for concrete and comprehensive aging data by putting it in the form of the Statistics of Aging Population 2021. Through this publication it is possible to know the extent of the potential and resources of the elderly population in Indonesia. This publication is an annual publication that contains macro information regarding the demographic conditions of the elderly population, educational status, health conditions, economic potential, social conditions, and access of the elderly population to various protection and empowerment facilities to improve their quality of life. The data used in this publication are mostly from the results of National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) March 2021, National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) August 2021, and are complemented by secondary data from Ministries/Institutions.
