Abstract

The increase number of elderly may lead to some complex consequences. Various challenges due to the aging of population have affected various aspects of life. To address this issue, we need a humanitarian development program that is able to protect the elderly’s life in Indonesia. Based on this phenomenon, BPS tries to carry out the need of concrete and comprehensive sustainability data through the 2019 Elderly Statistics Publication. Through this publication, we can find out the extent and potential of the elderly in Indonesia. This book is an annual publication that contains macro information about the demographic conditions, educational status, health conditions, economic potential, social conditions, and the access of the elderly to various protection and empowerment facilities to improve their quality of life. The data used in this publication are largely from the 2019 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) data, as well as 2019 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) data and secondary data from Ministries / Institutions for the rest.
