Abstract

One form of non-permanent mobility that is experiencing rapid development in big cities in
Indonesia is a commuting or "commuting" activity. Commuting activities are inseparable from participation commuter or "commander". The existence of commuters has an impact on the development of the area of ​​origin and commuter destination areas, for example in terms of providing adequate transportation and countermeasures congestion problems. On that basis, it is necessary to develop a data set and monitoring system that is able to act as input for the formulation of policies related to commuting. One attempt to accommodating this goal is to provide data through commuter surveys. For that, at in 2019 the Central Statistics Agency conducted a commuter survey in the Medan, Binjai and Deli Serdang regions (Mebidang) and in the areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek).
Based on the results of the 2019 Commuter Survey, a Mebidang Commuter Statistics Publication was prepared. Statistics commuters in this publication are presented in a complete and easy to understand manner so that they can be expected meet the needs of Mebidang commuter data users. The data presented include the amount commuting according to regencies / cities in the Mebidang region, commuter characteristics, and household characteristics commuter.
