Abstract

In the last five years, the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by households in Indonesia showed a rapid development. Percentage of population using cellulare phones was constantly increasing, up to 2018 reached 62.41 percent. The growth of cellular phone usage is followed by the growth of computer ownership and Internet access ownership in households reached 20.05 percent for computer ownership and 66.22 percent for the internet access at home ownership. Internet usage also increased during the period 2014—2018 which demonstrated by the increasing in percentage of people who access the internet in 2014 with percentage 17.14 percent to 39.90 percent in 2018. On the other hand, fixed line telephone ownership in households has been decreased from year to year, in 2014 the percentage of households that owns/master the fixed line telephone was 5.54 percent, down to 2.61 percent in 2017. In 2014 the percentage of the population aged 5 years and over who claimed have ever access to the internet in the last three months amounted to 17.14 percent and increase to 39.90 percent in 2018.
