Abstract

Fishery sector is regarded as one of the important sectors. Great number outputs of this sector are used to comply nutrition and protein, especially for Indonesian people and for all over the world. Fisheries statistic are required to acknowledge potential natural resources which is useful as input in planning and policy making in fishery sector. Data collection on fishery establishment constitutes as one of our endeavors to complete statistical data which are still weak.Data collecting on fishery establishment conducted upon all fishery establishments under the coverage of republic of Indonesia. The covered fishery establishments are uncorporated fishing and aquaculture establishment. The collected data consist of data on productions, labours, production facilities, and cost structures. The method used in collecting the data is complete enumeration upon all fishery establishments. Data routine collection conducted every year.The number of active fishing establishments in 2018 is 127 establishments. DKI Jakarta province has the highest number of fishing establishments which were as many as 39 establishments. In 2018, the number of fish aquaculture establishments up to 258 establishments, spread over 22 provinces and the highest number was located in Jawa Timur Province, 35,66 percent. Type of aquaculture activities was dominated by brackish water culture activities (126 establishments), hatchery activities (73 establishments), then marine culture (45 establishments), activities and fresh water culture (14 establishments).
