Abstract

The market is a forum for community activities in conducting trade. Until now, traditional markets are considered as the basic foundation of the economy in each region. In accordance with the mission of Nawacita, the market is a reflection of popular economy. However, the growth of modern markets and shopping centers managed by the private sector has gradually eroded the existence of traditional markets.Traditional markets, which are now referred to as people's markets, are containers that can be directly utilized by farmers / fishermen to sell crops. Thus can maximize the potential of the region concerned. When compared to modern markets / shopping centers, traditional markets provide more space for MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) can develop. This type of market has socio-cultural values ​​that are not owned by modern markets / shopping centers. In addition, the people's market also opens wider employment opportunities.The government seeks to improve facilities and infrastructure that support activities in traditional markets. The effort aims to increase buying and selling transactions so that it can drive the economy in each region. For this purpose, it is necessary to review the profile of traditional markets in each region. Profiles regarding physical and other resources that describe the feasibility of each aspect. Aspects involving direct trading activities, such as management of goods supply. In addition, there are also aspects that support the security, comfort and health of traders in the market.
