Abstract

For the first time, SUPAS 2015 gathered information about international migration in full. In addition to migrating into Indonesia, there are questions that can explore information regarding migration from Indonesia. From SUPAS 2015, it can be estimated the number of people going out and entering Indonesia during the specified time period. Data on incoming and outgoing international migrants can also be sorted according to age and sex which are needed to input assumptions of international migration in the future for the purposes of calculating population projections. This study is one form of utilization of SUPAS2015 data, specifically related to the provision of international migration statistics. The scope of the study carried out included international incoming migration and outgoing international migration. As the first study conducted, the results of this study are expected to be used to improve the missed parts, especially in the SUPAS2015 questionnaire, considering the preparation of the SUPAS2015 questionnaire conducted before the publication of the latest UN guide on international migration. Improvements in inputs, especially questionnaires, are expected to produce better output or data. The study was conducted using the two latest data sources covering international migration, namely the Population Census 2010 (SP2010) and the 2015 Intercensal Population Survey (SUPAS 2015).
