Abstract

As an archipelagic country, sea transportation has an important role in ensuring population mobility and distribution of goods within islands in Indonesia. The role of sea ports is an important part in supporting economic activities in a region that relies on sea transportation modes. Several indicators related to activities at the sea port can illustrate the development of sea transportation in Indonesia. Publication of Sea Transportation Statistics 2017 presents sea transportation data collected from Indonesian seaports in 33 provinces (not including DI Yogyakarta Province). Data on sea transportation includes ship call, loading and unloading cargo, and also debarked and embarked passenger for both domestic and international voyages.
