Abstract

  • The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in March 2025 was 1.03 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.22. The highest inflation by province was in Papua Pegunungan Province at 8.05 percent, with a CPI of 115.26, while the lowest was in Papua Barat Daya Province at 0.24 percent, with a CPI of 104.07. The highest deflation occurred in Papua Barat Province at 0.23 percent, with a CPI of 106.37, while the lowest was in Bengkulu Province at 0.22 percent with a CPI of 106.07. The highest inflation by regency/municipality was in Jayawijaya Regency at 8.05 percent with a CPI of 115.26, while the lowest was in Tanjung Pinang Municipality at 0.07 percent with a CPI of 105.05. On the other hand, the highest deflation by regency/municipality was in Muko Muko Regency at 0.83 percent with a CPI of 105.61, while the lowest was in Bengkulu Municipality at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 106.23.
  • Inflation occurred as prices increased, as indicated by the rise in most expenditure groups indices, Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 2.07 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 1.41 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 0.95 percent; Health Group of 1.80 percent; Transport Group of 0.83 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.17 percent; Education Group of 1.89 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 2.26 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 8.71 percent. Meanwhile, groups with deflation were Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group by 4.68 percent and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group by 0.24 percent.
  • The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 1.65 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.39 percent in March 2025.
  • For the Core Component, the March  2025 y-on-y, m-to-m, and y-to-d inflation rates were 2.48 percent, 0.24 percent, and 0.79 percent, respectively.
