Abstract

  • The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in October 2024 was 5.3 million, a decrease of 1.87 percent compared to September 2024. International air transport passengers decreased by 2.22 percent to 1.7 million. Meanwhile, the freight transported by domestic air transport increased by 3.73 percent to 55.6 thousand tons. From January to October 2024, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 52.8 million, increasing by 1.94 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 15.7 million, which increased by 22.39 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, freight increased by 8.04 percent to 546.7 thousand tons.
  • The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in October 2024 was 2.1 million, increasing by 1.02 percent compared to September 2024. The freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 2.07 percent, turning 33.8 million tons. From January to October 2024, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 21.5 million and increased by 27.84 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, freight increased by 0.56 percent, reaching 310.5 million tons.
  • The number of railway passengers departing in October 2024 was 38.3 million people, which increased by 6.82 percent compared to September 2024. Similar to the number of passengers, freight transported by train increased by 5.92 percent to 6.6 million tons. The number of passengers (excluding high-speed train) reached 350.6 million from January to October 2024 and increased by 13.85 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, the cumulative freight transported by train rose 10.54 percent to 61.0 million tons.
