Gini ratio in March 2024 was 0.379.

Abstract

In March 2024, the Indonesian expenditure inequality rate, as measured by Gini Ratio, was 0.379. The figure decreased by 0.009 points compared to March 2023 Gini Ratio at 0.388 and by 0.002 points compared to September 2022 Gini Ratio at 0.381.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.399, which decreased compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 (0.409) and September 2022 (0.402).
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.306, decreased compared to the Gini Ratio March 2023 (0.313) and September 2022 (0.313).
  • According to World Bank’s inequality measurement, expenditure distribution for the lowest 40 percent population was 18.40 percent. When specified by region, the figure was recorded at 17.41 percent in urban areas  while in rural areas was recorded at 21.39 percent.
