Abstract

  • Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • The national NTP for February 2023 was 110.53 or an increase of 0.63 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The increase in NTP was due to the increase in the price index received by farmers (It) by 0.89 percent which was higher than the increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) by 0.26 percent.
  • In February 2023, the South Sumatra Province's NTP experienced the highest increase (2.41 percent) compared to the increase in other provinces' NTP. In contrast, the Bangka Belitung Archipelago Province's NTP experienced the largest decline (2.25 percent) compared to the decline in other provinces' NTP.
  • In February 2023 there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Indonesia by 0.31 percent due to an increase in the index for all expenditure groups.
  • The national Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for February 2023 was 110.74 or an increase of 0.71 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
  • Of the 1,674 transactions of unhusked rice in 25 provinces during February 2023, 59.14 percent of dry harvested unhusked rice (GKP) were recorded; milled dry grain (GKG) 23.54 percent; and quality outer grain 17.32 percent.
  • During February 2023, the average GKP price at the farm level was IDR 5,711.00 per kg, down 2.16 percent and at the milling level IDR 5,856.00 per kg, down 1.96 percent compared to the price of grain of the same quality in the month previously. The average GKG price at the farm level was Rp. 6,436.00 per kg, down 0.99 percent and at the milling level, it was Rp. 6,557.00 per kg, or down 0.88 percent. The price for non-quality unhusked rice at the farmer's level is IDR 5,431.00 per kg, an increase of 5.18 percent and at the milling level, IDR 5,550.00 per kg, an increase of 5.03 percent.
  • Compared to February 2022, the average grain price in February 2023 at the farm level for the quality of GKP, GKG, and quality outer grain each increased by 17.78 percent; 18.12 percent; and 21.94 percent. At the milling level, the average grain price in February 2023 compared to February 2022 for the quality of GKP, GKG, and quality of outer grain each increased by 18.01 percent; 17.76 percent; and 22.16 percent.
  • During February 2023, a rice producer price survey at mills was conducted at 877 milling companies in 31 provinces, in which 1,122 rice observations were obtained at mills.
  • In February 2023, the average price of premium quality rice at the mill was IDR 11,818.00 per kg, an increase of 4.17 percent compared to the previous month, while medium quality rice at the mill was IDR 11,301.00 per kg, an increase of 4. .62 percent, and the average price of non-quality rice at the mill was IDR 10,468.00 per kg, an increase of 2.35 percent.
  • Compared to February 2022, the average price of rice at the mill in February 2023 for premium, medium and non-quality respectively increased by 20.26 percent; 20.75 percent; and 15.52 percent.
